What can I encode in a QR code?
Any text: URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, phone numbers, plain messages. QR codes hold up to about 4,000 alphanumeric characters — practical scans stay under 100 for fast phone recognition.
Which error correction level should I pick?
L is smallest and fine for clean screens; M is the everyday default; Q/H survive partial damage — logos overlaid on the center need H. Higher levels enlarge the grid for the same text.
Why does the code get denser with longer text?
QR capacity is fixed per version; the library auto-selects the smallest version that fits. More text means more modules, and each module shrinks on screen — keep payload short for reliable scans.
How do I scan the downloaded PNG?
Any phone camera recognizes it natively: open the image full screen or print it. The white border (quiet zone) around the code matters — this export includes it.
Does the QR code expire or phone home?
Never. The encoding happens entirely in your browser — a static QR code is just ink once rendered. Dynamic QR codes that track scans require a paid redirect service; anything you generate here is static and private.
