Frequently asked questions
Does the original order survive?
Yes. The tool keeps the first occurrence of every line and drops later repeats, so the relative order of the lines that remain is exactly as you typed them.
What do the three options do?
“Trim whitespace” strips leading and trailing spaces before comparing (and in the output). “Ignore case” treats Name and name as duplicates while keeping the original casing. “Remove empty lines” drops blank lines entirely.
How are duplicates detected?
After applying your options, each line becomes a comparison key. The first time a key appears the line is kept; any later line with the same key is counted as removed.
Can I use it on CSV or log files?
Yes — paste any line-based text. Turn off “Trim whitespace” if leading indentation is meaningful, and turn it on if rows may have stray spaces.
Does my data leave the browser?
No. Deduplication happens locally as you type; nothing is uploaded, stored or logged.
