- When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile worth double.

How do you play 2048?
Swipe the tiles with your finger or press the arrow keys. Every move slides all tiles in one direction; when two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile of double value. Reach the 2048 tile to win.
What is the best strategy for 2048?
Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there. Feed new tiles toward that corner by favouring two directions (for example left and down) and avoid pressing the third direction unless you must. Chain merges along the bottom row to build big numbers.
What happens after you reach 2048?
You win, but the board keeps going — you can continue toward 4096, 8192 and beyond. The game only ends when no moves are possible.
Is 2048 skill or luck?
Mostly skill. The only randomness is which tile (2 or 4) spawns where; good corner discipline and planning two moves ahead matter far more than luck. Bad players lose early, good players lose late.
What is the highest tile possible in 2048?
On a 4×4 board the theoretical maximum is 131072, but reaching it requires a near-perfect game. For regular players, 1024 and 2048 are strong results, and 8192 is exceptional.
