One tile is quietly drifting — catch it!

How to play

  1. Press Start — a 4×4 grid appears in a single color.
  2. One tile oscillates in lightness; the other fifteen never change.
  3. Click the drifting tile for a point and a fresh grid.
  4. Wrong clicks lock the grid briefly. Most finds in 60 seconds wins.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Dynamic Color Test work?

All 16 tiles share one color, but one is quietly drifting lighter and darker while the rest stay still. Click the drifting tile and a fresh grid appears immediately. Find as many as you can in 60 seconds.

What makes it harder than a static shade test?

Motion. Your visual system is tuned to detect change, but a tile that oscillates toward the background color plays peek-a-boo with perception — the difference is largest only part of the time, so timing your glance matters.

What is a good score?

Five to ten batches in a minute is typical. Above 16 is strong, and 22+ means you are spotting the drift within a second of each new grid appearing.

Do wrong clicks cost me?

A wrong click locks the grid for half a second — long enough to hurt your rate, short enough to recover from. The counter records wrong clicks so you can compare clean runs against frantic ones.

Why do the tiles sometimes look identical?

By design: the drifting tile periodically passes through the base color. At those moments it is literally indistinguishable — wait a beat and it separates again. That rhythm is the whole challenge.
