What does the kit include?
Four files and a snippet: favicon.ico (16/32/48 px in one container), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180 px for iOS), plus a ready-to-paste block of <link> tags for your <head>.
How is this different from a plain .ico converter?
A favicon is more than one file: browsers, taskbars and iOS home screens each look for different assets. The kit produces the conventional set with conventional names, so you can upload the files as-is and paste the links without renaming anything.
Why do I still need favicon.ico if I ship PNGs?
The multi-size .ico is the fallback every browser understands, including older ones and Windows shortcut icons. The PNG links let modern browsers pick sharper sizes; the .ico guarantees nothing is missing elsewhere.
My source image is not square — what happens?
It is scaled into each square canvas directly, so non-square icons get stretched. For crisp results start from a square image; transparency in your source is preserved in every output file.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Scaling, PNG encoding and the ICO container packing all run inside your browser tab.
