Frequently asked questions
What does the grid tool actually do?
It slices your picture into an N-row × M-column grid and gives you every tile as its own PNG — for 3×3 Instagram grids, puzzle sheets, mood boards or sprite sheets.
What happens when the size does not divide evenly?
The last column and last row absorb the remainder. A 1000 px image cut into 3 columns gives tiles of 334 + 334 + 332 px — every source pixel lands in exactly one tile, nothing is stretched or dropped.
Are my tiles uploaded anywhere?
No. The cutting happens on a canvas in your tab and each tile is generated locally. Files never leave your browser.
How do I download all tiles?
Press "Download all tiles" — the browser saves them one by one (r1c1, r1c2, …) with a short pause between files so your browser does not block repeated downloads.
Is there a grid size limit?
Rows and columns are clamped to 1–16, so up to 256 tiles. Tiny tiles from very small images will just be small files.
