Frequently asked questions

What does this “ideal figure” calculation actually mean?

It applies long-circulating aesthetic ratios — bust 0.53 × height, waist 0.37, hips 0.54, thigh 0.32, calf 0.21 — to your height. These are fashion-and-media conventions, not medical recommendations, and bodies outside them are completely healthy.

Is there a health metric hidden in these ratios?

One: the waist-to-hip ratio. WHO classifies WHR above 0.85 for women as substantially increased health risk from abdominal fat. Enter your own waist and hip to see your WHR and its risk band alongside the aesthetic numbers.

Why does bust scale with height?

The ratio tradition assumes proportional growth of the whole frame. In reality breast size depends more on body composition and genetics than on height — treat the number as the convention’s output, not a target.

Can I use these numbers as workout goals?

Not directly. Circumference goals can push unhealthy behaviors; strength, cardiovascular fitness and how you feel are far better training anchors. This page is a curiosity tool first.

Do the same ratios apply to men?

The classic ratios were popularized for women’s measurements. Men’s convention differs (most famously the shoulder-to-waist “V-taper”), so this calculator does not pretend to cover it.
