How do I select the crop area?
Drag directly on the picture — a highlighted rectangle follows your pointer, and the X/Y/W/H fields update live. You can also ignore the mouse entirely and type exact pixel values into the four fields.
Is my image uploaded while I drag the selection?
No. The picture is drawn on a local canvas and every calculation happens in your tab. Files never leave your browser — the drag selection is pure JavaScript geometry.
What happens if I drag outside the image or backwards?
The rectangle is normalized (a backwards drag flips into a forward one) and clamped to the image bounds, so the result is always a valid rectangle inside the picture.
Is cropping lossy?
No. Cropping just removes pixels outside the rectangle; everything inside is copied 1:1 into the PNG output with no re-encoding loss.
Can I crop to an exact aspect ratio here?
Type the width and height you want and keep X/Y at 0, or use the Aspect Ratio Adjuster — it automates center-cropping to a ratio like 16:9.
