Visual Tracking

A golden ring marks one ball — then every ball looks the same and they all drift away, bouncing off the walls. Keep your eyes on the marked one and click it when they stop. Each level: one more ball, more speed.

Track the golden ball while all balls drift freely.

How to play

  1. Press Start — one ball flashes a golden ring for a moment.
  2. All balls turn identical and drift around, bouncing off walls.
  3. When they stop, click the ball that wore the ring.
  4. Correct levels add balls and speed; one wrong click ends the run.

Frequently asked questions

How does the visual tracking test work?

Balls drift around the arena, bouncing off the walls. One starts with a golden ring — remember it, follow it while every ball looks identical, then click it when they stop. Each level adds a ball and more speed.

What is a good level to reach?

Two to four levels is a solid first run. Seven or more means you can smoothly track one object in a crowd — by then you are following up to ten balls moving at speed.

What skill is this actually measuring?

Smooth-pursuit eye movement plus attentional tracking — the same family of skills as the Multiple Object Tracking paradigm in vision science. It underpins catching, driving in traffic, and watching a play develop on the pitch.

Should I track with my eyes or my whole head?

Eyes only — keep your head still and let smooth pursuit do the work. If the ball crosses behind another, predict its path rather than snapping your gaze around: fast saccades lose the thread.

How is this different from Coordinate Drift?

Coordinate Drift tests steering — you actively follow a target with your pointer. Visual Tracking tests perception alone — your eyes do all the work and your only action is the final click.
