Frequently asked questions
Which bases are supported?
Every base from 2 to 36. Digits 0–9 work everywhere; letters a–z extend the range, so base 36 uses 0–9 and a–z. Binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal get one-click preset buttons.
How large can the numbers be?
There is no practical limit. Values are handled as JavaScript BigInt, so a 200-digit number converts just as reliably as 255. This tool covers integers only — fractional values need a different representation in each base.
Why does my input show an error?
Each base only accepts its own digits: "g" is invalid in hexadecimal, "2" is invalid in binary. Underscores, commas and spaces are ignored as separators, and letters are case-insensitive.
Is the output uppercase or lowercase?
Output uses lowercase letters (ff rather than FF), which is the common convention for hex dumps and hashes. Every representation is shown for the same integer, so you can copy whichever case your target system expects and convert it there.
Does anything get uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with plain arithmetic — nothing is sent to any server, which is exactly why a number of any size converts instantly.
